Peter de Grote Festival 2020: the digital edtion

Due to the COVID 19-virus the festival won't take place as originally planned. We worked hard on an alternative to present a musical summer for our audience. This resulted in the following three elements:

- Composer Wim Zwaag wrote a composition on the Coronavirus, exclusively for the Peter de Grote Festival: "Music, from a distance...". This composition was performed and recorded (both audio and video) this at the Prince Claus Conservatoire. The recording will be published on our website on July 15th, when the festival would originally start.

- A number of concerts from previous editions of the festivl were also recorded. These will also be published on our site on July 15th.

- A special part of the program is PdGCares!, where musicians compose and perform in the UMCG hospital for severe ill patients. This will also take place in a virtual way.

The program we orginially planned for the festival this year will be rescheduled for the summer of 2021, when we hope to see you again from July 14th - 24th.
