Noëlle Weidmann was born in 1985 in Metz (France). At age five she began to play the piano and followed this a year later with cello. After studying cello with Jean Charles Rougier she decided to focus on this instrument. At age 16 she was admitted into the class of Michel Strauss at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique, Paris. She furthered her study at the Prins Claus Conservatorium, Groningen with Jan-Ype Nota and Michel Strauss graduating with a perfect 10. In May 2006 she was appointed principal cellist of the Noord Nederlands Orkest. In August of the same year she was awarded the prize of the Stichting Labberte-Hoedemaker and in September was admitted to the post graduate course at the CNSM Paris.
Noëlle performs regularly as a soloist with French orchestras and as a chamber musician at many European festivals (Giverny, La Roque d Antheron, Santander). She has performed with renowned musicians such as Joseph Silverstein, Michel Strauss, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Jean Claude Vanden Eyden and Gil Sharon.
