Nil Domenech Fuertes

Nil Domenech was born in 1996 in a little city close to Barcelona. At the age of five he started his studies in music theory and with cello playing one year later. After two years of education in the town’s music school he continued his studies at the Escolania of Montserrat (a professional choir of boys), were he deepened his studies in music theory, singing, piano and cello. After 5 years of studying at that center he went on to Oriol Martorell school, focusing mainly in cello. Oriol Martorell is a specialized music school in Barcelona where he also followed the regular high school lessons.

He studied there under the tutelage of Joan Antoni Pich. And in 2014 he was accepted at the Prins Claus Conservatorium, in the class of Jan Ype Nota. Awarded that same year with the Klaas Dijkstra Foundation Scholarship he did all 4 years of bachelor getting his degree in June 2018. Next year he will start his Master degree in The Hague with Jan-Ype Nota and Michel Strauss.

During his education Nil had masterclasses from Jean-Guihen Queyras, Michel Strauss, Amir Eldan, Lluis Claret, Maria de Macedo, Harro Ruijsenaars, Amparo Lacruz amongst others.
