Beth & Flo
Beth & Flo (Elsbet Remijn and Claudette Verhulst) studies classical piano at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Rian de Waal, Ellen Corver and David Kuijken.
Elsbet and Claudette succesfully took part in many compotitions such as the competition of the SJMN and the Prinsess Christina Competition. They followed masterclasses with pianists such as Igor Roma, Ronald Brautigam, Paul Badura-Skoda and Ilona Timchenko.
In 2013 en 2014 Elsbet and Claudette were selected to take part in the Café Theater Festival in Utrecht. For this they made two concert shows. In 2013 they made 'Where did you get that hat?', based on the Music Hall – the varieté theatre in 19th century England - in combination with classical piano repertoire from the 19th century. The next year they made the show ‘Oui, oui, zo ies èt levèn’, a happy story about love, with French classical music and chansons.
In August 2015 Elsbet and Claudette perform a brand new show on the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, called 'Slaande Ovatie', directed by Jorinde Keesmaat. Beth & Flo will present this show both in theatres and concert halls and with this they attempt to make classical music more approachable for the public.
