Alessandro Soccorsi was born in L’Aquila in 1982 and started to play the piano at the age of ten years old. He graduated from the Conservatory “A.Casella” in L’Aquila in 2003 then continued his studies in the “Arts academy” in Rome with the pianist Konstantin Bogino then moved to Holland in 2008 where he studied for his master diploma at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague with the pianist Naum Grubert.
He has performed during his career througout Europe as soloist, with orchestras like Zuid Nederland Orkest, Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese and with ensembles Asko Schoenberg, Solisti Aquilani, Oerknal and several chamber groups in occasion of festivals like “ Società Concerti Barattelli”,“Pietre che cantano 2008” in Italy, during the season “Zaterdag Matinee” in Amsterdam,
His recent repertoire encompasses a large range of modern and contemporary composers such as Boulez, Jolivet,Vivier performed as soloist on the occasion of the Festival “The age of Boulez” organized by the “ Boulez Foundation”, “ Dag in de Branding: Festival voor Nieuwe Muziek” in the Hague, and the italian premiere of John Adams and F.M.Capogrosso for the festival “ L’Aquila Contemporanea Plurale”. Naxos released in 2017 a CD about Widor’s complete music for woodwinds and he’s recently involved in a new CD about Claude Vivier compositions.
Since 2016 works at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague as accompanist and chamber music teacher.
