Quirine Scheffers

Quirine Scheffers studied at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Theodora Geraets and Peter Brunt. She continued her studies with Krzysztof Wegrzyn in Hannover and Charles-André Linale in Utrecht and took masterclasses with Zakhar Bron, Herman Krebbers, Maurizio Fuks and Thomas Brandis.

When she was primary violinist of the Rubens Quartet she won many international competitions amungst which the “Prague Spring” and the “Schubert & Modern” in Graz. The quartet was also awarded the “Kersjes van de Groenekan prijs” and the “Philip Morris Finest Selection”.

Quirine performed in concert halls such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Tonhalle Zürich and the Konzerthaus and the Filharmonie in Berlin. She performed in countries such as France, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom, SLovenia, Romania and Poland ans is regularly invited to various festivals.

Besides performing Quirine is coaching young, talented musicians. She works together with the famous violin pedagogue Coosje van Wijzenbeek and is a regular jurymember of the Prinses Christina Concours.
Since 2012 Quirine is substitute 1st concert master of the Rotterdams Philharmonic Orchestra.
