Marion van den Akker
Marion van den Akker studied at the Sweelinck Conservatorium with Erna Spoorenberg, and then later with Henk Smit, Aafje Heynis and Josephine Veasey (England). A scholarship offered her the possibility to follow masterclasses with Nicolai Gedda, Italo Tajo and Brigitte Fassbaender. Marion van den Akker has worked as a soloist with conductors including; Hartmut Haenchen, Hans Vonk, Aldo Ceccato, Edo de Waart, Kenneth Montgomery, Jean Fournet, Henry Lewis, G. Pehlivanian, A. Liebreich, G. Rozsdestvensky , Kees Bakels, Eri Klas, Mark Foster, Marc Soustrot Reinbert de Leeuw and Yakov Kreizberg.
In The Hague, Marion van den Akker is responsible for the guest programming of the series 'Royaal Vocaal in de Nieuwe Kerk'. Marion is main subject teacher at the Prins Claus Conservatoire in Groningen.
