José María Fernández Benítez

José María Fernández Benítez started his studies at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Cordoba and the Superior Conservatory of Music of Liceu in Barcelona. He continued at the Superior School of Music Reina Sofía in Madrid, where he studies with Zakhar Bron, Marta Gulyas and Piero Farulli. During his studies José won many competitions and awards.

José performed as soloist with many orchestras in Spain and played in prestigious concert halls such as Palau de la Música Catalana, Ateneo de Barcelona, Auditorium of Zaragoza, Teatro Cervantes of Málaga, Gran Teatro of Córdoba, Teatro de la Maestranza of Seville, National Auditorium of Madrid, World Trade Center of Seville, International Festival of Piano of Lucena, and on the International Festival of Music of Verbier (Switzerland). Besides his orchestral experience José has been very active as chamber musician in various ensembles with musicians such as Joseph Colom, Arnold Collado and Amparo Lacruz.

He has been teacher of violin in Professional Conservatories of Music “Manuel de Falla” in Cádiz and “Hermanos Berzosa” in Cáceres and in the Professional Conservatory of Music “Gonzalo Martín Tenllado” in Málaga. José now teaches at the Professional Conservatory of music “Ángel Barrios” of Granada and as a guest teacher in several courses in various conservatories and summer courses.
