Jacobien Rozemond

Jacobien Rozemond studied violin with Davina van Wely and Ilya Grubert. She graduated with distinction from the Rotterdam Conservatorium and received a special prize for her graduation recital. She furthered her study with David Takeno in London.
Jacobien played solo repertoire of composers such as Vivaldi, Brahms, Schnittke and McCabe in France, Hungary, the USA (Tanglewood Music Festival) and Argentina.
Until 2007 Jacobien was member of the Ruysdael Quartet with which she won the Kersjesprijs 2006. Nowadays she performes regularly with the Amsterdam Bridge Ensemble which recorded cd’s with chamber music works of Hendrik Andriessen and René Samson (awarded with a 10 in magazine Luister). On the last cd ther is also a violin suite composed for Jacobien in which she combines her violin play with singing and a foot-bell.
From 1997 – 2004 Jacobien was member of the Combattimento Consort Amsterdam. Since 2003 she is principal of the second violins at the Amsterdam Sinfonietta. In both ensemble Jacobien also acted as solo player and concert master.
