Igor Roma



Igor Roma started with piano lessons at the age of 11. Four years later, in 1984, he moved to Schio and he registered for the di Musica Arrigo Pedrollo in Vicenza where he studied with Carlo Mazzoli until 1991, the year he gratuated.
In 1989 he was admitted to the Accademia Pianistica incontri col Maestro in Imola, where he studied with Franco Scala, Lazar Berman, Boris Petrushansky and Alexander Lonquich.
Igor took part in numerous national and international piano competitions and won numerous prizes. In 1994 he won the 6th prize in Dublin, in 1995 he won the 5th prize at the Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv and in 1996 the International Franz Liszt Pianoconcours in Utrecht. He also won the special prize by the critics.
In June 2001 he recorded his first CD with works of Alkan, Liszt and Prokofiev.
