When we think of Finnish music we almost instantly think of the beautiful works of Jean Sibelius. Also in this concert we won't be able to escape his repertoire but there is a lot more beautiful repertoire composerd in the country of a thousand lakes. Composers such as Englund, Pulkkis, Rautavaara, Melartin and many others, who were inspired by the beautiful nature and folklore. This results in a varied program with many contrasts.
