Debussys music has inspired generations of musicians from all over the world, amongst which Toru Takemitsu and Henri Dutilleux. Works of these two composers are combined with a number of Debiussy's most famous compositions: his cello sonata, which causes maximal expression with minimal means, and the string quartet which became a guiding influence for many quartets to come.
