Raluca Sabau

Transylvanian-born Raluca Sabau started playing piano at the age of 6 in Reghin, her hometown, where she soon after had her first public performance, followed by the first chamber music concerts at age 13 and her first concert with an orchestra at the age of 16. A graduate of the Cluj Music Academy, Raluca has given numerous recitals as a solo pianist, as part of chamber music ensembles or with an orchestra, attending festivals and performing on stages in Spain, Brazil, Germany, France, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, and The Netherlands. Raluca moved to the Netherlands in 2011 to follow her second master program at Artez Conservatorium under the guidance of Frank van de Laar. During her studies she attended masterclasses with Jan Wijn, Willem Brons, Akiko Ebi, and Jean-François Antonioli among others. While still studying, Raluca was offered to work as the pianist of the cello class of Jeroen Reuling, accompanying in lessons, exams, and masterclasses. Since living in the Netherlands Raluca has been featured on television, has played live on Radio4, and has performed solo in Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam for the Grachtenfestival. Since 2015 Raluca forms a duo with Russian cellist Aleksandra Kaspera.
