Pieter van Loenen

Pieter van Loenen started playing the violin at the age of six with Koosje van Haeringen. Since 2009 he studied at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Vera Beths, where he graduated in 2014. He continued his studies at the Norwegian College of Music in Oslo. CUrrently he is finishing his master studies at the Royal Conservatoire.

Pieter won various prizes in competitions such as the Dutch Violin Competition (Iordens and Dvina van Wely) and the Prinses Christina Concours. He received masterclasses from Emmy Verhey, Stephan Picard, Isabelle van Keulen, Vilde Frang and Anner Bijlsma.

Pieter has developed a special interest in contemporary music. He performed the solo part of the double concert for violin and piano by Hans Abrahamsen and worked regularly with Reinbert de Leeuw.
