Peter van der Zwaag

Peter van der Zwaag (1986) studied organ with Theo Jellema and Erwin Wiersinga at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen and received his masters degree in 2015. He continued studying harpsichord with Johan Hofmann. He won a number of awards at various competitions such as the 1st Prize at the SGO Competition in Groningen.
He followed masterclasses with organists such as Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Ben van Oosten and Eric Lebrun. Peters repertoire is very wide, with a special interest for 17th century music and French repertoire.
Peter is organist at the Kiruoskerk in Leeuwarden, and he is member of the board of the Koninklijke Vereniging van Organisten en Kerkmusici (KVOK), artistic advisor of the 'Organum Frisicum' and main editor of the 'Friese Orgelkrant'. Besides that Peter is owner of the music store 'Boeijenga Music' in Leeuwarden.
