Margaret Urquhart

Margaret Urquhart studied double bass and violoone with Anthony Woordow and viola da gamba with Anneke Pols at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. She became member oof many well known early music ensembles such as La Petite Bande (conducted by Sigiswald Kuijken), the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra (Ton Koopman), the Leonhardt Consort (Gustav Leonhardt) and Collegium Vocale Gent (Philippe Herreweghe).

Since 1986 Margaret is member of the Orkest van de Achttiende Eeuw, conducted by Frans Brüggen and she is also very active as chamber musician. She teaches couble bass and violone at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and the Conservatoire of Amsterdam. She also is a coach at the European Baroque Orchestra.
