Daniel Lanthier



Daniel Lanthier, baroque oboe, graduated in 2013 at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the class of Alfredo Bernardini. Originally from Canada, Daniel obtained a "Prix avec Grande Distinction" in 2008 at the Montreal Conservatory in modern oboe. His studies brought him in London (Royal Academy of Music) and Israel (Tel Aviv University). Daniel was granted scholarships from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Countess of Munster Trust. He played in North and South America, Europe and Israel under many conductors such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin (one-year position, Montreal's Orchestre Métropolitain), Zubin Mehta and more recently John Eliot Gardiner. In 2013, Daniel is involved in the Reincken Festival Oude Muziek (Deventer), Peter de Grote Festival (Groningen), Grachten Festival (Amsterdam) and the Fringes of the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht.
